General Labourer – NORM Waste Decontamination

About the role

SECURE is seeking a General Labourer to join its Standard, Alberta team. You will support the safe decontamination and disposal of Naturally Occurring Radioactive Material (NORM) waste in oilfield environments, receiving on‑the‑job training in NORM detection and safety procedures.

Key responsibilities

• Follow all SECURE safety policies and procedures on site.
• Detect, survey, handle, and decontaminate oilfield equipment and waste using high‑pressure water blast equipment.
• Operate forklifts, skid steers, and wheeled loaders equipped with a pipe grapple.
• Load and unload flat‑deck trailers safely and efficiently.
• Maintain decontamination equipment and perform routine cleaning.
• Sample, document, and store waste according to client and regulatory requirements.
• Prepare reports and records to meet compliance standards.

Required profile

• Valid Class 5 driver’s licence.
• Experience operating forklifts, skid steers, and wheeled loaders with a pipe grapple is a strong asset.
• Experience loading and unloading flat decks is an asset.
• Basic computer skills.
• Ability to prioritize work with a strong commitment to safety.
• Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
