Gallery Attendant

About the role

The Legislative Assembly of Manitoba is seeking reliable Gallery Attendants to manage access and security for the public gallery during legislative sessions. Attendees will interact with a high volume of visitors, ensuring a safe and welcoming environment.

Key responsibilities

• Control entry to the public gallery and maintain security throughout legislative sessions.
• Provide similar access control for committee meetings when required.
• Respond to visitor inquiries and provide information about the gallery.
• Identify and recognize Members of the Legislative Assembly (MLAs) and staff members.
• Work flexible hours, including afternoons, mornings, occasional Fridays, and possible overtime or evening shifts.

Required profile

• Demonstrated experience working directly with the public.
• Background in security or related fields.
• Ability to work independently and make sound judgments.
• Strong attention to detail, especially in recognizing MLAs and staff.
• Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills.

• Hourly wage ranging from $21.17 to $24.73 (CAD) based on experience.
