Fund Development Manager

About the role

The Canadian Mental Health Association (CMHA) Ontario is seeking a Fund Development Manager to lead major gift acquisition, donor stewardship, and grant management. Reporting to the Chief Development Officer, this position is based in Toronto and operates in a hybrid work model.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and grow a portfolio of individual, corporate, and foundation donors, from prospect identification to stewardship.
• Secure high‑value gift commitments and lead annual fundraising campaigns, including monthly giving, direct mail, and online appeals.
• Research, qualify, and develop grant proposals, coordinating the full grant lifecycle and reporting requirements.
• Establish best‑in‑class stewardship plans, maintain accurate CRM records, and ensure compliance with CRA regulations.
• Supervise, mentor, and develop department staff, participating in recruitment and talent management.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of fundraising or fund development experience with a proven track record of securing major gifts.
• Graduate degree in a relevant field is an asset; experience in the charitable or non‑profit sector is valuable.
• Strong relationship‑management, communication, and strategic planning skills.
• G license required.
