Full‑time Trauma Physician – Level 3 Trauma Centre

About the role

The Fraser Health Trauma Network is seeking a full‑time Trauma Physician to join the ARHCC Trauma Service at a 275‑bed regional hospital in Abbotsford, BC. The physician will act as Trauma Team Lead/Consultant for activations and consultations and serve as the most responsible physician for admitted trauma patients.

Key responsibilities

• Lead trauma team activations and provide expert consultation.
• Assume responsibility for admitted trauma patients as the most responsible physician.
• Participate in a 24/7 on‑call schedule (approximately 7 days every 2 months) with onsite daytime coverage and home call within a 30‑minute travel window.
• Collaborate with emergency physicians, surgeons, intensivists, anesthesiologists, and allied health professionals.
• Contribute to the multidisciplinary trauma service alongside a team of nine trauma physicians.

Required profile

• Board‑certified physician with experience in trauma care.
• Willingness to work collaboratively with a diverse clinical team.
• Fellowship in Trauma or Acute Care Surgery is an asset but not mandatory.
• Open to emergency medicine physicians, intensivists, anesthesiologists, and general surgeons with trauma experience.
• US‑trained trauma physicians are accepted.
