Full-time Educational Assistant

About the role

Buffalo Trail Public Schools is seeking a compassionate Educational Assistant to support students at Creighton School on the Mannville Hutterite Colony. Working under the direction of classroom teachers, you will help create an inclusive learning environment that promotes academic, social, and personal growth for students with diverse needs.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver tailored educational instruction, prepare materials, and assist with data collection and progress monitoring.
• Modify curriculum and classroom resources to meet individual or group needs.
• Support students in developing academic, social, behavioral, and life‑skills for greater independence.
• Provide personal care such as feeding, hygiene, and toileting as required.
• Supervise students during instructional and non‑instructional times, including playgrounds and field trips.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, attend professional learning sessions, and contribute to team or parent meetings.

Required profile

• Diploma in Childhood or Educational Assistant programs (preferred).
• Experience supporting individuals with special needs, including language delays, behavioral challenges, emotional dysregulation, and motor delays.
• Ability to assist with personal hygiene and care needs.
• Training in SIVA or other non‑violent crisis intervention strategies is an asset.
