Full-Time Assistant Manager

At Hot Topic we’re passionate about music, pop culture, and creating an amazing in‑store experience for customers and employees. We’re looking for a Full‑Time Assistant Manager to help lead the loudest store in the mall.

Key responsibilities

• Support the Store Manager in achieving sales plan and comparable sales goals.
• Recruit, develop, and retain a collaborative, passionate team.
• Create buzz and customer engagement through promotion of new products, social media, BOPIS, and curbside pickup.
• Lead operationally sound business practices, balancing operations, delegation, and customer‑first selling.
• Monitor shrink/loss prevention, payroll hours, and associate schedules.
• Communicate with retail leadership and HQ on trends and customer feedback.
• Run sales reports and use data to guide strategy to hit targets.
• Merchandise the store using planograms and launch promotions on time.

Required profile

• 1‑2 years of retail store management experience.
• Strong communication, recruiting, and operations skills (payroll, reporting, scheduling, merchandising).
• High school diploma or GED; a degree is a plus.
• Ability to adapt to a fast‑changing retail environment.
• Physical ability to handle merchandise up to 50 lb.
