Frontend Engineer – JavaScript Infrastructure

About the role

We are looking for a Frontend Engineer to join Stripe’s JavaScript Infrastructure Engineering team. In this role you will help shape the tools and libraries that power the daily workflow of thousands of frontend engineers worldwide, improving productivity and developer experience at scale.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain Stripe’s frontend package manager, build toolchain, bundler configuration, and TypeScript infrastructure.
• Lay the groundwork for AI‑native frontend development to boost productivity.
• Ensure consistency across projects by defining best practices and standards.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to deliver reliable, high‑performance tooling.

Required profile

• 2+ years of software development experience with strong JavaScript or TypeScript skills.
• Deep understanding of modern frontend ecosystems and large‑scale web applications.
• Systems‑thinking mindset, able to anticipate edge cases and downstream impacts.
• Passion for improving developer experience and measuring impact on team productivity.
• Excellent written communication and ability to work autonomously on ambiguous problems.
