Front-End Developer

About the role

Air Canada is seeking a creative and detail‑oriented Front‑End Web Developer to transform design concepts into high‑performance, user‑centric applications for both web and mobile platforms. You will work within a diverse, collaborative team that drives the airline’s digital transformation and delivers seamless experiences to millions of customers.

Key responsibilities

• Translate design mockups into responsive, accessible, and high‑performance user interfaces for web and mobile.
• Write clean, scalable, and modular code using modern JavaScript frameworks such as React, React Native, and Angular.
• Build reusable UI components and contribute to a shared design system.
• Optimize front‑end performance through lazy loading, code splitting, caching, and render‑time reduction.
• Collaborate with back‑end developers to integrate APIs and ensure smooth data flow.
• Develop, customize, and maintain Drupal‑based websites, including module development and theme implementation.
• Create comprehensive unit, integration, and end‑to‑end tests to guarantee code reliability.
• Implement accessibility standards (WCAG 2.1, Section 508) for inclusive experiences.
• Leverage AI‑assisted development tools to streamline workflows.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies and contribute to continuous process improvement.

Required profile

• Strong collaborative mindset, comfortable working with designers, product managers, QA, DevOps, and distributed teams.
• Passion for clean code, performance optimization, and continuous learning.
• Ability to adapt to emerging technologies and best practices in front‑end and mobile development.
