French Teacher

About the role

The French Teacher role at Proficient Academy is a full‑time, on‑site position based in Moncton, New Brunswick. You will design and deliver engaging French language lessons for a diverse audience that includes school‑age students, newcomers, and professionals, helping them achieve practical language goals.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and deliver lesson plans covering grammar, vocabulary, and conversation skills.
• Assess learner progress, provide constructive feedback, and adjust instruction as needed.
• Create and adapt learning materials to suit varied proficiency levels.
• Coordinate with the academic team to ensure teaching methods align with organizational standards.
• Maintain clear communication with learners and families regarding goals and outcomes.
• Support learners preparing for French language assessments such as TEF and TCF.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of the curriculum.

Required profile

• Strong French teaching and tutoring abilities, adaptable to different age groups and proficiency levels.
• Experience in teaching, lesson planning, classroom management, and learner assessment.
• Background in teacher training or professional development in language education.
• Excellent spoken and written proficiency in both French and English.
• Relevant post‑secondary education in French, Education, Linguistics, or a related field; teaching certification is an asset.
• Ability to work on‑site, collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, and support a learner‑focused mission.
• Experience preparing learners for TEF or TCF exams is a plus.
