Framer/Carpenter

About the role

We are seeking a skilled Framer/Carpenter to join our construction team in Calgary. The role involves preparing cost estimates, interpreting building plans, and executing structural framing tasks across a variety of projects.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare labour and material cost estimates.
• Read blueprints, drawings and sketches to determine work requirements.
• Measure, cut, shape, assemble and join wood, wood substitutes and lightweight steel.
• Build foundations, install floor beams, lay sub‑flooring and erect walls and roof systems.
• Fit and install windows, doors, stairs, mouldings and hardware.
• Schedule and coordinate work on site, surveying building locations and levels.
• Instruct apprentices and supervise other workers.
• Maintain, repair and renovate residential and industrial wooden structures.

Required profile

• Secondary school graduation certificate.
• 2 to less than 3 years of relevant experience.
• Ability to work flexible hours in a full‑time permanent position.

Required skills

• Blueprint reading.
• Use of measuring tools.
• Wood cutting and shaping.
• Window and door installation.
• Supervision of apprentices.
