Foreman (Construction)

About the role

Clearway is seeking an experienced Foreman to lead crews on utility and construction projects across the Lower Mainland. The role combines hands‑on field work with coordination of personnel, subcontractors and equipment to ensure projects are completed safely, on time and within scope.

Key responsibilities

• Review scope of work with the superintendent and execute key functions while performing hands‑on tasks.
• Assist the superintendent in organizing daily activities of crew members, subcontractors and equipment.
• Lead, mentor and motivate the crew, schedule equipment and manpower, and ensure compliance with environmental regulations.
• Document site conditions, employee issues, changes in scope, and review grade sheets for accuracy.
• Report unsafe conditions, attend toolbox and safety committee meetings, and comply with OH&S regulations.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years experience as a Foreman in underground sewer, watermain or utility work.
• Active CSTS, WHMIS, First Aid, Flagger, Ground Disturbance and Confined Space certifications.
• Valid driver’s license and legal eligibility to work in Canada (no sponsorship).
• Union membership requirements: Operating Engineers Local 115 for equipment operators or LiUNA CSWU Local 1611 for labourers.

Required skills

• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, schedules and costing reports.
• Strong technical computer capability using mobile devices.
• Extensive knowledge of equipment utilization, operation and maintenance.
• Understanding of contracts, asset utilization and costing.
