Food Service Worker – Part-Time

About the role

We are looking for a part‑time Food Service Worker to join our team in Hamilton, ON. You will prepare, present and serve meals while maintaining high standards of food quality and presentation. The position offers a competitive wage of $18 per hour.

Key responsibilities

• Perform prep work such as washing, peeling, cutting and seeding fruits and vegetables.
• Carry pans, kettles and trays of food to and from work stations, stove and refrigerator following safety standards.
• Store food in designated areas, applying proper wrapping, dating, rotation and food‑safety procedures.
• Set up items for purchase on a daily basis and maintain clean work areas.
• Remove trash and garbage to designated collection points.
• Distribute supplies, utensils and portable equipment as needed.
• Follow approved recipes and production standards to ensure correct portion sizes, serving temperatures and quality.
• Serve customers courteously, handle cash transactions when required, and resolve any concerns.
• Ensure compliance with all sanitation and safety regulations.

Required profile

• FoodSafe Level 1 certification.
• Ability to operate a cash register (asset).
• Strong time‑management and organizational skills.
• Capability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Good command of spoken and written English.
• Physical ability to perform the duties of the role.
