Food Service Supervisor

About the role

The Food Service Supervisor will lead a small team in a fast‑paced restaurant environment, ensuring meals are prepared, portioned, and delivered to high quality standards while meeting schedule demands.

Key responsibilities

• Establish methods to meet work schedules.
• Supervise and coordinate activities of staff who prepare and portion food.
• Train staff in job duties, sanitation and safety procedures.
• Estimate ingredients and supplies required for meal preparation.
• Hire food service staff.
• Ensure food and service meet quality control standards.
• Prepare budget and cost estimates.
• Address customer complaints or concerns.
• Maintain records of stock, repairs, sales and wastage.
• Prepare and submit reports.
• Prepare food order summaries for the chef.
• Supervise and check assembly of trays and delivery of food trolleys.
• Monitor food safety compliance.
• Coordinate with kitchen staff for timely deliveries.
• Manage inventory and control waste.
• Prepare shift reports.
