About the role

The Varsity Tutors Live Learning Platform connects thousands of students nationwide with online Fluid Mechanics tutors. As a tutor, you will work remotely, set your own schedule, and help students master fluid statics, dynamics, and related engineering concepts.

Key responsibilities

• Provide one‑on‑one and instant tutoring sessions via the platform’s Live Learning interface.
• Explain core topics such as Bernoulli’s equation, Navier‑Stokes equations, Reynolds number, drag and lift forces, turbulence, and dimensional analysis.
• Guide students through problem‑solving exercises including pressure distribution, control‑volume analysis, Moody chart friction factors, and pump/turbine performance calculations.
• Adapt instruction using flow‑visualization videos, worked engineering examples, and CFD demonstrations.
• Track student progress and invoice for completed sessions.

Profile sought

• Advanced mastery of fluid mechanics concepts and their engineering applications.
• Ability to break down complex calculations and convey them in clear, relatable terms.
• Strong communication skills and an engaging, friendly teaching style.
• Experience tutoring undergraduate or introductory graduate engineering students.
