Floor Covering Installer

About the role

Corady Services Ltd is seeking a skilled Floor Covering Installer to work on commercial and residential projects in Calgary. The role involves preparing, installing, and repairing a variety of floor types while ensuring quality and safety standards.

Key responsibilities

• Inspect, measure, and mark surfaces before installation.
• Cut, fit, and fasten underlay, underpadding, and flooring materials such as carpet, vinyl tiles, and hardwood.
• Perform moisture, pH, and temperature tests prior to installation.
• Remove existing floor coverings and prepare subfloors.
• Use knee kickers and other equipment to stretch carpet and ensure a smooth finish.
• Inspect and repair damaged floor coverings as needed.

Required profile

• 2 to less than 3 years of flooring installation experience.
• Physically capable of handling heavy loads, bending, crouching, and kneeling.
• Own reliable transportation to reach various job sites.
• Organized and able to work in dusty commercial environments.

Required skills

• Measuring and marking surfaces accurately.
• Cutting and installing carpet, vinyl/resilient tiles, and hardwood flooring.
• Conducting moisture, pH, and temperature testing.
• Operating knee kickers and stretching equipment.
