Flight Operations Systems Engineer

About the role

The Flight Operations Systems Engineer will join the System Engineering Department to define, develop and execute satellite constellation operations. The role involves preparing, implementing, testing and verifying operational procedures for on‑orbit activities, with flexibility to work onsite in Montreal or remotely for the right candidate.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct trade‑off studies for the design, development and testing of satellite/constellation operations procedures.
• Develop and oversee Spacecraft In‑Orbit Operations Procedures, manuals, test procedures and associated training.
• Create verification and validation matrices for commissioning, routine and contingency operations.
• Support In‑Orbit Test (IOT) activities, anomaly resolution and Fault Detection, Isolation and Recovery (FDIR).
• Operate the satellite simulator and develop operational scripts.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline.
• Minimum 7 years of experience, including LEO/MEO satellite operations.
• Proven experience with automated satellite operations and IOT.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English; French is a plus.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Python or other scripting languages.
• Knowledge of flight software, satellite database operations and telemetry structures.
• Familiarity with space and ground‑segment design, specification and integration.
