Financial Controller – Remote (Canada)

About the role

We are seeking a seasoned Financial Controller to lead financial accuracy, discipline, and strategic visibility for a fast‑growing international e‑commerce business. The role is fully remote and central to month‑end, quarter‑end, and year‑end close processes, ensuring compliance with IFRS/GAAP and supporting data‑driven decisions across operations, marketing, and finance.

Key responsibilities

• Lead month‑end, quarter‑end and year‑end close cycles with accurate, timely reporting.
• Manage full‑cycle accounting, including treasury, general ledger, and financial reporting, while driving automation and efficiency.
• Partner with cross‑functional teams to maintain data integrity and compliance with IFRS/GAAP.
• Develop and enforce strong internal controls and authorization frameworks.
• Oversee budgeting, forecasting, cash‑flow planning, variance analysis and performance reporting.
• Support external audits, tax filings and regulatory reporting, ensuring high‑quality financial outputs.

Required profile

• CPA designation.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field.
• 7+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience.
• Deep knowledge of GAAP, IFRS and core accounting principles.
• Proven track record managing month‑end close and preparing financial statements.
• Hands‑on experience implementing internal controls in a growth environment.
• Experience working with external auditors and third‑party vendors.
