Financial Controller – Manufacturing

About the role

Our client, a stable and growing manufacturer of aluminum welding solutions based in Mississauga, is looking for a Financial Controller to lead the accounting and finance function. Reporting directly to the CEO, the role provides high‑visibility financial insight and controls across a hands‑on manufacturing environment.

Key responsibilities

• Manage all accounting operations, including general ledger, month‑end, quarter‑end and year‑end close.
• Oversee cost accounting: calculate standard costs, value inventory, and analyse manufacturing variances (FIFO/LIFO).
• Prepare monthly internal financial statements and support external audit and tax compliance.
• Supervise accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll and cash‑flow management.
• Coordinate purchasing activities with the inventory analyst and issue purchase orders.
• Provide sales support by updating customer price lists and generating Excel‑based reports.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
• CPA or CMA designation preferred.
• 5–10+ years of accounting experience in a manufacturing environment, including inventory and cost accounting.
• Fluent English (first language or fully proficient).
• Availability to work Monday‑Friday, 9 am‑5 pm.

Required skills

• Proficiency with ERP systems.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
