- Lead and coach a small, growing accounting team.
- Partner with the CEO to adopt AI across finance, automating invoice processing, reconciliations, reporting and forecasting while keeping strong controls.
- Own job costing and WIP schedules and review project performance with Business Unit Managers.
- Oversee accounts receivable and payable, payroll and banking, and give leadership clear visibility into cash flow.
- Provide the CEO with cost analysis and scenario modelling, and support annual budgeting and reforecasting.
- Strengthen accounting processes and connect data across systems such as Spectrum and Traqspera.
- Maintain internal controls and compliance, coordinate annual insurance renewals and keep policy records current.
Required profile
- 8+ years of progressive finance experience, including 3-5 years as a controller leading an accounting team, with recent experience in construction or civil infrastructure.
- Direct experience managing job costing, WIP reporting and forecasting on project-based work.
- CPA designation required.
- Experience implementing AI or automation in finance is a strong asset.
Required skills
- Advanced Excel and financial modelling.
- Hands-on experience with AI tools such as Microsoft Copilot, ChatGPT or Claude, with good judgment on verifying outputs and protecting data.
- Experience with Spectrum is an asset.
What we offer
- Competitive salary based on experience.
- Annual company profit sharing.
- Comprehensive benefits available from day one.
- Paid vacation, statutory holidays and respect for personal time.
- Training, a company laptop and cell phone or allowance.
