Financial Controller

About the role

Botpress is building an AI‑first platform for customer support and needs a Financial Controller to own the financial backbone of a fast‑scaling SaaS business. Reporting to the VP of Finance, you will manage end‑to‑end accounting while shaping forecasts, board reporting, and financial systems.

Key responsibilities

• Lead month‑end and year‑end close, delivering accurate financial statements.
• Oversee daily accounting: revenue recognition, AP/AR, payroll, and reconciliations.
• Automate finance processes using AI tools and build scalable systems.
• Mentor a small finance team (1‑2 direct reports) and ensure high‑quality output.
• Drive annual audits and maintain compliance with accounting standards.
• Develop budgets, forecasts, and cash‑flow models in partnership with the VP of Finance.
• Prepare board and investor reports, including SaaS metrics such as ARR, NRR, CAC, and burn multiple.
• Design and implement financial controls and partner with department leaders on spend management and headcount planning.

Required profile

• CPA designation.
• 5+ years of progressive accounting/finance experience, including at least 3 years in a controller or senior accounting leadership role.
• Strong bias toward automation and proven track record of building efficient systems.
• Experience in a high‑growth SaaS or startup environment with fluency in SaaS revenue recognition.
• Hands‑on FP&A experience: budgeting, forecasting, and board‑level reporting.
• Detail‑oriented, deadline‑driven, and comfortable with startup ambiguity.
