Financial Controller

About the role

The partner company is seeking a Financial Controller based in Canada to own and drive financial operations in a fast‑growing, technology‑focused environment. You will lead accounting processes, strengthen controls, and deliver accurate reporting that supports strategic decisions.

Key responsibilities

• Own monthly, quarterly and annual close cycles and ensure timely, accurate financial reporting.
• Prepare and review financial statements, balance‑sheet reconciliations, variance analyses and cash‑flow reports.
• Develop and maintain accounting policies, procedures, schedules and reporting frameworks.
• Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, collections, payroll accounting, fixed assets, capitalization and expense management.
• Design, implement and monitor internal controls to mitigate risk and meet compliance requirements.
• Manage financial, tax and external audits, acting as primary contact for auditors and advisors.
• Lead improvements to financial systems, processes and reporting workflows through automation and AI‑enabled solutions.
• Mentor and develop accounting team members while building a scalable finance function.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to improve financial workflows and promote best practices.

Required profile

• Finance leader with strong accounting expertise and excellent analytical abilities.
• Demonstrated ability to design and implement scalable finance processes.
• Experience managing audits, compliance and internal controls across multiple jurisdictions.
• Proven track record of leading and developing finance teams.
