Financial Controller – Bilingual (French/English) – Up to $120k CAD

About the role

Imperial Recruitment is partnering with Vulcan to appoint a bilingual Financial Controller for its growing Canadian operation in Montréal. This hands‑on, standalone finance lead will own group reporting, statutory accounts, audit and tax compliance, and the month‑end close, while acting as a commercial partner to the business.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and present group financial reports and local statutory accounts.
• Manage month‑end close, audit coordination and tax compliance, including Canadian sales tax.
• Lead budgeting, forecasting and financial analysis to support sales and senior management.
• Supervise a Finance Assistant and maintain strong internal controls.
• Develop financial information that is accessible to non‑finance colleagues.

Required profile

• CPA‑qualified accountant or equivalent with experience as a financial controller or finance lead.
• Proven ability to manage month‑end, controls, statutory reporting and audits in a standalone business or subsidiary.
• Fluency in both French and English.
• Strong commercial mindset and confident communication skills.
