Field Service Technician (Underground)

About the role

Sandvik Mining is looking for an experienced Field Service Technician (Underground) to join its team in Nunavut. You will be responsible for troubleshooting, repairing and maintaining underground mining equipment, ensuring safe and efficient operation for our customers.

Key responsibilities

• Inspect equipment for performance, identify faults and malfunctions.
• Adjust, repair or replace defective parts, components or systems according to work orders.
• Test repaired equipment to verify proper operation.
• Commission new equipment and provide training at customer sites.
• Participate in continuous‑improvement initiatives.
• Prepare accurate time records, technical and failure reports, and parts lists.
• Follow all health, safety and environmental procedures, conduct risk assessments and report unsafe conditions.

Required profile

• Relevant trade certification (Red Seal certification is an asset).
• At least three years of experience working with mining equipment.
• Experience with underground equipment servicing is preferred.
• Common Core training is considered an asset.
• Strong ability to read hydraulic and electrical schematics.
