Field Service Engineer – Alberta, Saskatchewan & Manitoba

About the role

Alcon is seeking a Field Service Engineer to support customers across Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba. You will provide technical advice, install and test eye‑care equipment, and ensure high levels of customer satisfaction while representing a global leader in eye care.

Key responsibilities

• Perform corrective and preventive maintenance, system upgrades, and installations of medical devices.
• Respond promptly to customer concerns, resolve quality and safety issues, and maintain accurate documentation.
• Manage daily schedules, communicate with dispatchers, managers and cross‑functional teams, and handle inventory and parts returns.
• Promote and sell maintenance contracts, assisting the sales team as needed.

Required profile

• Associate degree in electronics or equivalent experience; strong background in electronics, electricity and mechanics.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean record for the past three years and ability to lift up to 50 lb.
• Two years of hands‑on experience with advanced medical devices and medical lasers, including connecting devices to hospital networks.
• Willingness to work a variable schedule, travel overnight up to 50 % of the time, and work independently in the field.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Teams and SharePoint.
• Working knowledge of ServiceMax and Salesforce.
