Field Engineer / Specialist – RSSOM for Ontario Line

About the role

We are seeking a qualified Field Engineer / Specialist (FS) to join Bantrel’s infrastructure team in Toronto. The successful candidate will oversee the construction of the Step‑up Substation (SUSS) and/or the Operations, Maintenance and Service Facility (OMSF) for the Ontario Line transit project, ensuring safe, on‑time delivery in a complex rail‑ corridor environment.

Key responsibilities

• Manage day‑to‑day construction activities for the SUSS steel structure, transformer pads and related works.
• Coordinate with CP Rail, HONI, City of Toronto and other civil partners to resolve interface issues.
• Maintain detailed construction schedules, progress reports and quality/ safety documentation.
• Engage with stakeholders at Exhibition Place, Liberty Village and Thorncliffe Park to address concerns and facilitate communication.
• Support the Lead Field Specialist in planning, risk assessment and commissioning activities.

Required profile

• Relevant engineering degree or equivalent field experience.
• Proven experience in construction engineering on large‑scale infrastructure projects.
• Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment with multiple interfaces.
• Strong communication skills for stakeholder engagement.
