Facilities Maintenance Technician

About the role

Black & McDonald’s Alberta team is expanding and seeks a committed Facilities Maintenance Technician to support client facilities in Calgary and the surrounding area. You will work closely with the Facilities Management and Operations Project Manager to deliver responsive and planned maintenance while ensuring safety and compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Perform routine cleaning, painting, garbage and snow removal, as well as minor plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and mechanical repairs.
• Coordinate work schedules, supervise subcontractors, verify completion of tasks, and report deficiencies with remedial actions.
• Respond promptly to tenant requests, conduct mechanical inspections, and maintain building equipment, utilities, and surrounding property.
• Execute preventive and corrective maintenance on HVACR, door systems, electrical, elevators, lighting, fire detection, generators, security, and building envelope.
• Prepare progress reports, manage work orders, and ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental policies.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent; working toward or holding a Class 5 Power Engineering Certification is a plus.
• At least 2 years of facilities maintenance experience.
• Ability to travel to multiple client sites and be on‑call for after‑hours emergencies.
• Clean Class 5 AB Driver’s License and ability to operate a company vehicle safely.
