About the role
The Calgary Police Service is seeking currently serving sworn police officers from Australia, New Zealand, Ireland, the United Kingdom, and the United States to join its ranks as Experienced International Officers. Candidates will undergo a selection process that includes testing in Calgary and must obtain permanent resident status before entering a CPS recruit class.
Required profile
- Be a currently serving sworn police officer with a municipal, state, provincial, county, or national police service (UK exceptions noted).
- Have at least two years of continuous police service, including recruit training; UK applicants must be post‑probationary.
- Be eligible to resign from the current police service and have no unpardoned criminal convictions or ongoing investigations.
- Demonstrate an exemplary service record and performance history.
- Obtain Permanent Resident (PR) status in Canada prior to joining a CPS recruit class.
