Executive Director

About the role

The Registered Massage Therapists’ Association of British Columbia (RMTBC) is seeking an accomplished Executive Director to lead the association that represents roughly 3,300 registered massage therapists across the province. Reporting directly to the Board, the Executive Director will serve as the chief administrative officer, guiding strategy, operations, advocacy, finance, governance, communications and stakeholder relations.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement strategic plans that advance the profession and strengthen the association’s influence.
• Lead day‑to‑day operations, including human resources, project delivery and contractor management.
• Oversee financial stewardship: budget creation, financial reporting, risk management and regulatory compliance.
• Build and maintain productive relationships with government, insurers, healthcare leaders and media.
• Serve as a trusted advisor to the Board, translating strategic priorities into measurable outcomes.
• Expand strategic partnerships with healthcare organizations, educational institutions and advocacy groups.

Required profile

• Senior executive leadership experience, preferably within healthcare, professional associations, non‑profits or regulated professions.
• Proven experience reporting to a Board of Directors.
• Strong financial and operational management background.
• Demonstrated ability to influence policy makers, regulators and industry stakeholders.
