Executive Director

About the role

The Executive Director will serve as the senior leader of Steel Plus Network, guiding a growing community of independent steel fabricators and supplier partners across North America. Reporting directly to the Board of Managers, the role blends strategic planning, relationship building, financial oversight, and day‑to‑day operational management.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with the Board to advance strategic priorities, prepare meeting materials, and provide governance guidance.
• Oversee budgeting, cash flow, investments, financial reporting, invoicing, and banking relationships; coordinate with external accountants.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with members, suppliers, and industry stakeholders; drive membership growth and engagement.
• Lead supplier program reviews, negotiations, and partnership management.
• Manage member communications, marketing initiatives, website content, and digital presence.
• Plan and execute regional events, meetings, and the Annual General Meeting.
• Direct daily administrative functions and foster a collaborative, service‑focused culture.

Required profile

• Senior leadership or association management experience.
• Strong financial and business acumen.
• Excellent communication and relationship‑building abilities.
• Experience working with Boards, committees, or governance structures.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities with high organization and attention to detail.
• Willingness to travel periodically throughout North America.
