About the role
The Executive Coordinator supports the Senior Advisor and the Strategic Advisor within the Faculty of Medicine’s Dean’s Office at the University of British Columbia. The role ensures smooth administration, project coordination and effective liaison with internal and external stakeholders, including health authorities and government officials.
Key responsibilities
- Coordinate and complete a variety of projects that enhance the efficiency of the Senior Advisor, Office of the Dean, VP Health and the Strategic Advisor, Government Relations.
- Manage strategic priorities, annual and one‑time initiatives, and maintain the commitments, meeting schedules and information requests for both senior advisors.
- Facilitate communication and linkages between the Faculty of Medicine Executive team, UBC Health senior leadership and external partners.
- Conduct research, prepare analyses, and advise on options and courses of action.
- Oversee the mandates of strategic planning, governance and administrative committees, ensuring timely delivery of outcomes.
- Develop presentations and supporting materials for internal and external audiences.
- Maintain confidentiality, tact and diplomacy in all interactions.
Required profile
- Experience coordinating senior‑level administrative functions within a complex academic or health‑care environment.
- Strong understanding of Faculty of Medicine governance, administration and external relations.
- Ability to manage multiple projects, deadlines and stakeholder relationships.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a focus on professionalism and discretion.
