Engineer-in-Training (EIT) – Project Support

About the role

DMC Mining Services is seeking an Engineer‑in‑Training (EIT) on a contract basis to support mining projects from conceptual design through completion. The role provides exposure to both office‑based engineering work and on‑site construction activities, preparing the incumbent for future project engineer or manager positions.

Key responsibilities

• Assist project engineers with technical tasks, ensuring accurate calculations and complete data.
• Prepare plans, designs, and calculations based on provided specifications.
• Develop project schedules, scopes of work, execution plans, and budgets.
• Coordinate engineering, construction, and procurement activities across internal and external teams.
• Conduct field work and support construction and commissioning activities.
• Report project status on safety, quality, schedule, and budget to stakeholders.
• Promote occupational health, safety, and environmental improvement and adhere to DMC’s 5‑Point Safety System.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline (e.g., Mining, Structural, Electrical, Mechanical).
• 0‑2+ years of relevant experience.
• Eligibility for EIT designation with Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO).

Required skills

• Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Project.
