Elementary Teacher – Long Term Occasional (Full‑Time)

About the role

The District School Board Ontario North East is seeking a qualified Elementary Teacher for a Long Term Occasional (LTO) assignment at Pinecrest Public School. This full‑time (1.0 FTE) position runs from August 31, 2026 to June 25, 2027, or until the regular employee returns.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver the Ontario curriculum to primary/junior students in a classroom setting.
• Plan, implement, and assess instructional activities that meet diverse learning needs.
• Maintain accurate records of student progress and attendance.
• Collaborate with colleagues, support staff, and parents to foster a positive learning environment.
• Participate in school meetings, professional development, and extracurricular activities as required.

Required profile

• Ontario College of Teachers (OCT) accreditation.
• Valid Primary/Junior teaching qualification.
• Special Education qualification is preferred but not mandatory.
• Ability to obtain a Criminal Background Check with vulnerable sector screening prior to employment.

Required skills

• Proficiency in classroom management and instructional strategies.
• Strong communication skills for interaction with students, parents, and staff.
• Familiarity with Ontario’s education policies and assessment tools.
