Elementary Teacher – Grade 5 ELA, Math & Science (Part‑time)

About the role

The Sherbrooke Elementary School is seeking a qualified Elementary Teacher to deliver Grade 5 English Language Arts, Mathematics and Science instruction on a part‑time basis. This replacement contract runs from 5 August 2026 to 29 June 2027, covering 90 % of a full‑time workload.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging lessons in ELA, Math and Science for Grade 5 students.
• Assess student progress and provide timely feedback.
• Maintain classroom management and a safe learning environment.
• Collaborate with the school principal and fellow teachers to align with curriculum standards.
• Participate in parent‑teacher conferences and school events as required.

Required profile

• Valid Quebec teaching authorization (brevet d’enseignement, teaching permit or provisional authorization) or enrollment in a recognized Bachelor/Master of Teaching program.
• Alternatively, a bachelor’s degree in a related discipline combined with relevant experience working with youth.
• For foreign degrees, a Ministry‑issued comparative evaluation confirming equivalence.
• Commitment to the school’s schedule and ability to work onsite.
