Elementary & Junior Intermediate Teacher (K-8) in Marten Falls

About the role

Join a vibrant First Nation community as an Elementary or Junior Intermediate Teacher (K‑8) at Henry Coaster Memorial School. You will live in Marten Falls, immerse yourself in local culture, and deliver the Ontario curriculum while supporting students’ academic and personal growth.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver clear, structured lessons aligned with the Ontario curriculum.
• Use assessment data to target literacy and numeracy gaps.
• Develop and implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and apply special‑education strategies.
• Provide small‑group and one‑on‑one instruction in a low‑student‑to‑teacher ratio setting.
• Build strong relationships with students, families, and community members.
• Apply trauma‑informed and restorative practices in daily teaching.

Required profile

• Qualified teacher with certification for Kindergarten‑Grade 6 or Intermediate (Grade 7‑8) as required.
• Experience teaching in diverse or remote settings is preferred.
• Commitment to relocate to Marten Falls and engage fully with the community.
• Ability to integrate cultural knowledge and language into instruction.

Required skills

• Knowledge of the Ontario curriculum.
• Experience with IEP development and special‑education techniques.
• Proficiency in trauma‑informed and restorative teaching practices.
