About the role
The University of British Columbia Library is seeking a leader to manage its Electronic Resources and Access (ER&A) team. This position oversees the provisioning, licensing, and accessibility of electronic resources across the library.
Key responsibilities
- Hire, train, coordinate, and evaluate the ER&A team.
- Investigate and resolve complex technical problems and escalated issues.
- Collaborate with Collections Services librarians on acquisitions, renewals, and licensing strategies.
- Manage workflows and processes that support ER access operations.
- Partner with the ER Licensing Specialist to maintain a sustainable licensing infrastructure, interpret licenses, track usage, and ensure digital accessibility compliance.
- Provide consultancy, training, and support to library staff on ER services and infrastructure enhancements.
Required profile
- Proven experience managing electronic resources and licensing in a library or academic setting.
- Strong leadership and team‑development skills.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating closely with HR, librarians, and legal counsel.
- Knowledge of best practices in electronic resource licensing and digital accessibility.
