Electrical Field Engineer & QA – Projects

About the role

The Electrical Field Engineer & Quality Assurance – Projects role supports construction activities at a client site in Fort McMurray, AB. You will provide on‑site electrical engineering support, ensure compliance with design and codes, and oversee quality assurance throughout the project lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Participate in safety programs, conduct Field Level Hazard Assessments and attend contractor safety meetings.
• Respond to RFIs, FCNs and provide constructible solutions; perform field visits for problem analysis and coordination.
• Complete engineering calculations, review and approve electrical shop drawings and technical submittals.
• Assist contractors with interpretation of drawings, specifications and electrical code requirements.
• Develop and review Work Packages, identify errors in engineering documents and update turnover management system.
• Review Quality Plans, Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), initiate Non‑Conformance Reports and conduct audits to verify compliance.
• Lead Installation Work Packages, conduct final walk‑downs and support closure of deficiencies.

Required profile

• Experience in field‑based electrical engineering within construction or industrial projects.
• Strong understanding of electrical codes, standards and quality assurance processes.
• Ability to work safely in a rotating 8x6 shift schedule and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
