Educational Assistant – Various Locations

About the role

The Upper Grand District School Board is seeking dynamic Educational Assistants to support students across multiple schools in the Dufferin, Wellington and Guelph areas. These temporary positions, ranging from part‑time (0.5 FTE) to full‑time (1.0 FTE), begin in September 2026 and run until June 2027. Assistants work under the direction of the school principal to provide direct support to learners with diverse needs.

Key responsibilities

• Assist teachers in delivering classroom activities and individualized learning plans.
• Provide one‑on‑one or small‑group support to students requiring additional assistance.
• Supervise students during transitions, recess, and other school settings.
• Collaborate with staff to monitor student progress and report observations.
• Maintain a safe and inclusive learning environment.

Required profile

• Willingness to work with students who have a wide range of abilities and needs.
• Physical ability to assist students throughout the school day.
• Ability to follow directions from school leadership and adhere to board policies.
