Early Childhood Educator – Preschool

About the role

St. Albert Montessori School is seeking a dedicated Early Childhood Educator to join its preschool program. You will create a nurturing environment that supports the physical, cognitive, emotional and social development of young children.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement child‑care programs that promote holistic development.
• Lead storytelling, song teaching, and craft activities, and organize outings to local points of interest.
• Assist senior educators in record‑keeping, behavior guidelines, and progress reporting.
• Guide children in daily routines such as eating, dressing and toilet habits.
• Observe and report signs of learning or behavioural challenges to parents and supervisors.
• Supervise and coordinate activities of other early childhood educators and assistants.

Required profile

• College or CEGEP diploma (1‑2 years) in Early Childhood Education or equivalent experience.
• 2–3 years of experience working with preschool‑aged children.
• Certifications: ECE Level 1, Level 2, Level 3, Emergency child‑care first aid & CPR, First Aid.
• Ability to work in an urban, non‑smoking environment and pass criminal and vulnerable sector checks.
• Strong interpersonal, communication and teamwork skills.

Required skills

• Emergency child‑care first aid and CPR.
• First Aid certification.
