Early Childhood Educator Assistant – Full‑Time Temporary

About the role

Exciting internal opportunity for a full‑time, temporary Early Childhood Educator Assistant at BGC Okanagan’s Club on 35th Avenue in Vernon. The role supports the Early Years program, helping children learn, grow and thrive while providing coverage for a leave of absence from October 5 2026 to July 5 2028.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in planning, preparing and delivering developmentally appropriate indoor and outdoor activities for individuals and groups.
• Monitor and guide children in daily routines, including diapering, toileting, eating and sleeping.
• Model positive behaviour management techniques and support physical, cognitive, emotional and social skill development.
• Maintain a safe, clean environment, report hazards, and ensure compliance with BGC policies and licensing regulations.
• Administer first aid and medication according to policy and keep accurate records.
• Communicate openly with parents/guardians and report concerns to senior staff.

Required profile

• Early Childhood Assistant Certification (required).
• Current First Aid Certificate or willingness to obtain one.
• Successful completion of agency screening, including a criminal record check.
