Early Childhood Education (ECE) Teacher – Highroad Children’s Centre

About the role

We are seeking a qualified Early Childhood Education (ECE) teacher to join the Highroad Children’s Centre in Chilliwack. The role involves delivering high‑quality childcare programs and supporting children’s development.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement programs that promote physical, cognitive, emotional and social development.
• Lead activities such as storytelling, songs, arts, music and physical play.
• Plan and maintain a safe, healthy environment for children.
• Assess children’s abilities and communicate progress with parents and staff.
• Observe and report any learning or behavioural concerns.
• Support children in developing proper eating, dressing and toileting habits.
• Supervise and coordinate activities of other educators and assistants.
• Plan and organize activities for school‑age children before and after school hours.

Required profile

• ECE certificate required.
• Ability to collaborate with co‑workers and community service providers.
• Commitment to child health, safety and well‑being.
• Willingness to engage with parents and community partners.

Required skills

• Experience planning and delivering early childhood programs.
• Strong observation and reporting skills.
• Ability to create engaging lesson plans.
• Effective communication with children, parents and staff.
