Dump Truck & Tag‑Along Driver – GTA

About the role

Sterling Haulage, part of the Clearway Group, is seeking a Dump Truck and Tag‑Along Driver to support heavy civil construction projects across the Greater Toronto Area. Reporting to the Fleet and Logistics Superintendent, you will safely operate dump trucks and tag‑along trailers, delivering materials and equipment to job sites.

Key responsibilities

• Operate dump trucks to transport aggregates, soil, asphalt and other construction materials to job sites across the GTA.
• Load, secure, transport and unload construction equipment using tag‑along trailers.
• Perform pre‑trip, en‑route and post‑trip inspections of vehicles and trailers.
• Maintain driver logs, inspection reports and delivery documentation.
• Communicate with dispatch, supervisors and site personnel and assist with general labour duties as needed.

Required profile

• Valid Class AZ driver’s licence with a clean driver’s abstract and CVOR record.
• Minimum five years of experience operating dump trucks and hauling equipment.
• Proven experience with tag‑along trailers and load securement.
• Familiarity with GTA routes, construction sites and Ontario traffic conditions.
• Ability to work early mornings, extended hours and weekends.

Required skills

• Class AZ driver’s licence.
• Tag‑along trailer operation and load securement.
• Knowledge of Ontario Ministry of Transportation (MTO) regulations.
• Operation of heavy equipment such as skid steer or mini excavator (asset).

What we offer

• Hourly wage of $34 CAD.
• Full‑time schedule from 5:00 am to 5:00 pm EST.
• Transition to a unionized position (LOCAL 230) after three months.
