Driller Assistant

About the role

The Driller Assistant will support ConeTec’s drilling operations in the field, helping with equipment setup, maintenance and site preparation while adhering to strict safety standards. This position offers hands‑on experience with drilling rigs, sampling systems and in‑situ testing equipment in a fast‑paced, outdoor environment.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with the setup, operation and routine maintenance of drilling rigs, sampling systems and in‑situ testing equipment.
• Prepare tools, materials and equipment for daily field work and support mobilization/demobilization of rigs in remote locations.
• Follow ConeTec’s health‑and‑safety procedures, attend daily safety meetings and report any incidents or hazards.
• Communicate equipment issues or site observations to the Supervisor or Project Manager.
• Perform basic equipment troubleshooting, general site clean‑up and shop support tasks.

Required profile

• High School Diploma or equivalent (GED) required.
• Vocational training or technical courses in drilling, construction, geotechnics or heavy‑equipment operation is an asset.
• Physical ability to perform demanding tasks, including lifting up to 50 lb and working in varied weather conditions.
• Strong safety awareness and a team‑oriented mindset.
