Director Project Management Office

About the role

The Director of the Project Management Office (PMO) will lead the strategic and operational performance of the PMO for a Canadian‑based global health company. Reporting to the Senior Director, Business Relationships & PMO, this role oversees a portfolio of 20‑30 projects and mentors a team of 8‑12 internal and external resources.

Key responsibilities

• Provide day‑to‑day leadership of the PMO, ensuring consistent delivery methodologies, governance, risk management and reporting.
• Develop and execute a strategy to elevate project and program control frameworks across complex, large‑scale initiatives.
• Act as primary escalation point and trusted advisor to business leaders, GIS leadership, delivery teams and external vendors.
• Manage portfolio execution, financial stewardship, resource allocation and stakeholder engagement.
• Mentor and develop PMO talent, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and execution excellence.

Required profile

• Undergraduate degree in Business, Science, Engineering or equivalent.
• 10+ years of progressive, enterprise‑level project and program management experience, preferably in pharma, consumer packaged goods or similar fast‑paced environments.
• Proven ability to allocate resources, prioritize projects, develop roadmaps and drive large‑scale transformation.
• Strong analytical mindset, business acumen and executive presence.
