Director of Finance and Controller

About the role

The Director of Finance and Controller is a temporary, fixed‑term position (approximately 12 months) created to maintain continuity within Heritage Park’s finance leadership team. Reporting to senior executive leadership, the role will guide financial strategy, budgeting, forecasting and cash management to support the organization’s mission and long‑term sustainability.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute financial strategies aligned with Heritage Park’s goals, providing insight into financial health, liquidity and risk.
• Lead budgeting, rolling forecasts and variance analysis, ensuring accuracy, discipline and timely updates.
• Perform scenario modelling, sensitivity analysis and financial planning to inform strategic decisions and capital investments.
• Oversee short‑ and long‑term cash management, cash‑flow forecasting and working‑capital optimisation.
• Partner with executive leadership to embed financial considerations into all major initiatives.
• Monitor compliance with donor, grant and funding requirements related to cash and financial reporting.

Required profile

• Proven experience in senior finance roles, preferably within non‑profit or mission‑driven organisations.
• Strong analytical mindset with ability to translate strategic initiatives into financial impacts.
• Demonstrated leadership in budgeting, forecasting and cash‑flow management.
• Excellent communication skills to present financial insights to executive teams.
