About the role

We are seeking a Director of Executive Recruiting to lead our enterprise‑wide talent acquisition strategy for senior‑level positions across the Royal Bank of Canada. In this pivotal role you will act as a trusted advisor to senior business leaders and HR partners, shaping the executive pipeline that drives the bank’s competitive advantage.

Key responsibilities

• Lead end‑to‑end executive search assignments across multiple functions and geographies, from strategy development to successful placement.
• Manage and optimise relationships with external search partners, ensuring consistent quality and alignment with RBC standards.
• Provide counsel to executive leadership, delivering market insights, stakeholder‑management guidance and strategic recommendations.
• Develop and execute sourcing strategies for critical talent using both consultant‑led and platform‑based approaches.
• Collaborate with business leaders and HR to align search strategies with workforce planning and organisational needs.
• Establish recruitment KPIs, produce performance reports and conduct strategic market analysis for senior stakeholders.
• Represent the recruitment function in client meetings, articulating market perspectives and candidate insights.

Required profile

• 10+ years of talent acquisition experience, including at least 5 years leading executive search assignments.
• Proven track record delivering executive hires across finance, risk, compliance and technology/IT sectors.
• Extensive experience managing external search partners across multiple regions.
• Strong business acumen and ability to navigate complex stakeholder environments.
• Executive presence and the ability to influence C‑suite and senior leaders.
