Digital Content Editor – Legal Content (Canada)

About the role

LexisNexis Canada is looking for a Digital Content Editor to join its Practical Guidance team. The role blends legal expertise with editorial skills to produce high‑quality online legal resources for Canadian lawyers, focusing on corporate, commercial and M&A law.

Key responsibilities

• Write, review, edit and commission practice notes, precedents, checklists, flowcharts and other practical legal resources.
• Ensure all digital content meets LexisNexis quality standards, remains current, accurate and relevant.
• Monitor legal developments and market trends in corporate, commercial and M&A law.
• Interpret complex legal and business issues and recommend best practices for content development.
• Contribute subject‑matter expertise to content strategy, product direction and innovation initiatives.
• Collaborate with product, technology and editorial teams to deliver content on schedule.
• Utilise AI‑enabled tools and large language models (LLMs) in daily workflow, applying editorial judgment to validate outputs.
• Train, mentor and guide junior team members as a recognised expert.

Required profile

• Law degree (LLB or equivalent).
• 4–6 years of practice experience in corporate, commercial and/or M&A law within a leading South African law firm or in‑house department.
• Deep practical knowledge of South African corporate/commercial/M&A law to support Canadian content development.
• Proven ability to solve complex legal or content‑related problems independently.

Required skills

• Proficiency with AI‑enabled tools.
• Experience using large language models (LLMs) for content creation.
