Digital Content and Communications Assistant

About the role
The Digital Content and Communications Assistant will support the Undergraduate Recruitment Office by creating and managing digital content that promotes Carleton University’s programs and events. Working under the Electronic Media and Communications Officer, the assistant will help ensure consistent, engaging messaging across all recruitment channels.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and edit content for recruitment communications, including web pages, email campaigns, and event materials.
- Write, proofread, and adapt recruitment messaging to suit various audiences.
- Monitor, update, and create content for online platforms and the university’s recruitment website.
- Respond to inquiries and engage audiences on social media platforms.
- Collaborate with design and communications teams to maintain consistent branding and visual standards.
- Compile and analyse digital analytics reports to inform communication strategies.
- Stay current with digital media trends and recommend improvements to recruitment communications.
- Participate in recruitment events to provide on‑site digital support and liaise with visitors.
Required profile
- Strong written and editorial skills with an eye for detail.
- Experience creating digital content for recruitment or marketing purposes.
- Ability to work collaboratively with multiple stakeholders.
- Comfort with managing social media channels and responding to online inquiries.
- Analytical mindset for interpreting digital metrics and reporting.
- Willingness to stay updated on emerging digital trends.
