DevOps Specialist – GitLab CI/CD (6‑month contract)

About the role

Join CIRA’s Registry team to advance the trusted .CA domain and broader digital services for Canadians. As a DevOps Specialist you will enhance reusable CI/CD components, support application teams, and help maintain the high stability and security standards of the platform.

Key responsibilities

• Update, maintain and improve reusable GitLab CI/CD components and templates.
• Design and optimise pipelines for Java and Maven applications, including builds, automated testing, security scanning and artifact publishing.
• Manage GitLab runners, container registries, package registries and pipeline artefacts.
• Establish CI/CD standards and best practices while coaching application teams.
• Troubleshoot issues across builds, pipelines, runners, containers and security scans.

Required profile

• 3+ years of experience in DevOps, DevSecOps, build engineering or software development.
• Hands‑on experience with GitLab CI/CD, including reusable components, runners, caching and artefacts.
• Software development background, preferably with Java and Maven‑based applications.
• Strong troubleshooting skills for builds, pipelines, containers and security scanning.
