Devices Service Maintenance Technician

Join the team that keeps Edmonton’s Regional Smart Fare System running smoothly. As a Devices Service Maintenance Technician you will ensure transit validators, ticket machines and handheld devices stay operational, supporting thousands of daily riders.

Key responsibilities

• Keep critical transit devices up and running across the network.
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on smart‑fare hardware.
• Diagnose and resolve real‑time issues and incidents.
• Monitor system performance and run device diagnostics.
• Support software updates and system releases.
• Track and manage device inventory and components.
• Collaborate with transit agencies, internal teams and vendors.
• Deliver against high SLA expectations in a fast‑paced environment.

Required profile

• Background in Electrical or Electronic Engineering (or similar).
• Experience with networked systems and applications.
• Strong understanding of system architecture and operating systems.
• Hands‑on maintenance experience in large‑scale systems.
• Problem‑solver with strong attention to detail.
• Ability to juggle priorities and stay calm under pressure.
• Excellent communication and a customer‑first mindset.
• Valid driver’s licence and access to a vehicle.
