Department Manager In‑Training – Front End/PCX

About the role

Atlantic Superstore is seeking a Department Manager In‑training for its Front End/PCX area in Lower Sackville. This full‑time role will oversee daily operations, drive sales and profitability, and develop a high‑performing team. The position offers a pathway to permanent department management within a leading Canadian retailer.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee day‑to‑day operations of the assigned department.
• Achieve or exceed sales and profitability targets.
• Train and develop associates in customer service, product knowledge and merchandising.
• Maintain appropriate stock levels, displays and pricing.
• Monitor inventory and coordinate timely replenishment with other departments.
• Ensure a clean and safe environment for customers and staff.
• Manage departmental expenses and assist with budgeting.
• Communicate regularly with store management and other department managers.
• Identify and recruit talent to strengthen the team.
• Lead, coach and motivate colleagues to improve productivity and retention.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent; some college coursework preferred.
• Previous retail management experience, preferably in a departmental or specialty store.
• Strong leadership and interpersonal abilities.
• Excellent organizational and time‑management skills.
• Flexibility to work nights and weekends.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lb and stand for extended periods.
